Stanley
Based in Aberdeen, Stanley are well-known for live performances that are both energetic and intricate, mixing electric guitars with orchestral instruments such as vibraphone. Their unique blend of musical styles and sounds has seen them perform at music industry showcases such as Go North, events like the Wizard festival and even catch the eyes of music industry figures like famous producer Steve Levine and former Simple Minds manager Bruce Findlay. More recently, they reached the Scottish final of a competition run by Island Records and had their songs broadcast on both Radio Scotland and also Radio 1‘s Evening Session show.As well as being regulars on the local live music scene, Stanley have provided support for bands such as The Bees and Marina & The Diamonds.
The band released Monkeys & Friends at the end of last year to critical acclaim. They also plan to release an album of their material later in 2011 along with a follow-up single, ‘Sandwiches & Tea’.
